Sam Snyder, CFA

Sam joined Northcoast Research in January 2024 as an Equity Research Analyst covering the HVAC sector. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business and earned his CFA charter in 2019. He began his career at Northcoast Research in 2014, where he worked as a Research Associate on a consumer and industrials team covering the rent-to-own, dollar store, automotive aftermarket retail, and tire manufacturing industries.

Sam then joined Key Private Bank as an Equity Analyst, advancing to Associate Portfolio Manager. The flagship strategy that he helped manage outperformed its benchmark in four of the five years that he spent on the team, beating the S&P 500 by nearly 250 bps annually with turnover averaging just 20%.

Following his time at Key, Sam became an Analyst and Partner at Cleveland Capital Management, a long/short hedge fund that invests in public micro-cap equities, private equity, and private credit. While there he gained experience in constructive activism and special situations investing.

Immediately before returning to Northcoast Research, Sam spent time at Eaton Corporation in the treasury department as a foreign exchange and commodities hedging analyst.
