Kartik joined Northcoast Research in May 2009 as a Principal, Executive Managing Director, Director of Research and Equity Research Analyst covering the Business Services sector, with specific emphasis on ATM, Bank Processing, Merchant Acquiring, Money Transfer, Postage Industry, Payroll Processing and Tax Preparation companies. Prior to joining Northcoast Research, Kartik was a Managing Director and Senior Analyst at FTN Midwest since 1998-2009. Prior to becoming a sell-side analyst Kartik worked for the State of Ohio as a savings and loan and bank examiner for ten years from 1988-1998. During his tenure with the State of Ohio, Kartik developed a significant number of banking contacts and a specialized knowledge base that has provided him invaluable insight into his covered companies for the past 16 years.
Kartik and his team have cultivated an extensive network of proprietary industry contacts, including current and former high-level members of senior management at a number of covered and uncovered companies, private payroll processing company executives, international merchant acquiring executives, bank processing consultants, private mobile and internet banking providers, point-of-sale VARS, postage meter dealers, public company tax preparation franchisees, intendent tax preparers, and private money transfer executives. In addition to providing proprietary equity research and custom research data to institutional investors, Kartik has partnered with a number of industry trade groups to conduct proprietary research and present key conclusions to members. Kartik also presents to private and public companies regarding the current competitive environment and industry outlook for their respective industries.
